Spring is here and the days are getting longer and warmer. It’s time to get out of the house and enjoy the lovely sun. Here is your guide to the best hiking trails you can visit this weekend on your own or with friends. Oh, and did we mention, these are dog friendly trails?!
Soos Creek
We’re starting with Soos Creek Trail because it’s the closest to Bower Village Apartments of these recommendations. Although some of the trail is paved that’s not to say you won’t find beautiful scenery here. In fact, one of the main attractions to this trail is the abundance of beautiful wild flowers which you can check out this spring. Soos Creek Trail runs about 11.5 miles and has many entrances so you can explore different parts on different days. Since most of it is paved, you’ll find it easy to bike on it or even bring your stroller.
Lake Fenwick
If you’re in the mood for a lusher option that’s still close to home, you should schedule a visit to Lake Fenwick. Lake Fenwick trail is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Kent, WA. This 2.7-mile trek features a peaceful lake at the end of the trail and fresh green scenery along the way. The nice thing about this hiking trail is that it's a dog friendly park and it's not heavily trafficked.
Dash Point State Park
If you have a little more time in your day, Dash Point State Park is just 30 minutes away from Bower Village Apartments. This trail is perfect for the whole family to visit including your dogs. However it's important to note that leashes are required as this trail is filled with runners, cyclists, and other families. And that’s for good reasons. This trail features beautiful sights of the ocean and lush green trees of the Pacific Northwest. Be prepared to be here a while as the trail is 4.4 miles in length and the scenery will make you want to stay.
Saltwater State Park
The great thing about living at Bower Village Apartments is that it's so close to so many nature filled parks and trails to explore. The next dog friendly trail near Kent, WA that we'd recommend is located just 20 minutes away from your home. Saltwater State Park Loop is a short but charming 1.4 mile trail that’s filled with a serene forest setting. Here you’ll be able to find rich woodland vegetation, small creeks, bridges, and even some sights of the sea.
